On 20th June RES took part in One World Event organised by Sandwell College. Its main aim was to celebrate cultural diversity of college learners and staff- something we embrace and relate to. It was great to see so many students and their teachers coming together, sharing their incredible talents, showing culture and traditions alongside delicious food and vibrant music.
The event was hosted by Shaida Bibi- Community Coordinator from Birmingham City Council who had the honour of introducing some special guest speakers. We had the opportunity to listen to some heart-breaking but at the same time uplifting and inspirational stories from Mindu Hornick- Holocaust Survivor and Ahmad Nawaz- survivor of Taliban attack.
As participants and guests, we thoroughly enjoyed the day at the college and were happy to assist students with their enquires about Hate Crime, Equality Act and share possibilities of volunteering with us.
