We are glad to announce that Suzanne Virdee is our new Women’s Empowerment Ambassador. Suzanne is a highly experienced broadcast journalist. She presents the ITV National Weekend News as well as the ITV London News. She is a freelancer and has recently presented documentary items for BBC Inside Out and BBC Radio 4.
She started her broadcast career in Birmingham for BBC local radio station, BBC WM before moving into television news, working for ITV Central before returning to the BBC to become the main presenter for the regional news programme, BBC Midlands Today. During that time Suzanne was also a regular face on the national, BBC Breakfast news, presenting the early programme from London from 6 to 6.30am and bulletins throughout the show.
Suzanne is a qualified journalist who learned her craft as a newspaper reporter. She became news editor of her first newspaper at the age of just 21.
She is also the author of a book, called A Teenage Girl’s Guide To Being Fabulous. The book aims to help girls navigate the choppy waters of teenage years and to emerge strong and confident and fabulous. The book is out now on Amazon.
She is a blogger for the Times of India Newspaper and the Huffington Post UK. Suzanne is Anglo-Asian. Her father is Indian, Sikh and mother English, Christian.
