What we do
Safer 6 in your town
Annual autumn six-week Safer 6 campaign will run from 23 September to 5 November 2017.
Organisations work closely together day in, day out throughout the year to make Sandwell a safer.
Safer 6 is all about targeting their efforts and providing extra reassurance during the darker nights, fireworks and bonfire season – a time when crime and anti-social behaviour can often rise. Come along to the Safer 6 launch event at Haden Cross Fire Station, Halesowen Road, Cradley Heath, on Saturday 23 September, from 10am to 4pm, with a host of partner organisations and information.
Each town will have a focus week during the campaign.
• w/c 25 September: Rowley Regis
• w/c 2 October: Oldbury
• w/c 9 October: Tipton
• w/c 16 October: West Bromwich
• w/c 23 October: Wednesbury
• w/c 30 October: Smethwick
Fire, council, police, health and probation services, councillors and community and voluntary organisations are all taking part.
Rights & Equality Sandwell together with other public and charity organisations in Sandwell will work with the community to identify issues, tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and clean up 'grot spots' – and promote safety, crime prevention and healthy living to people of all ages, with a special focus on engaging with young people.
Report crime to the police by calling the 101 non-emergency police number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Follow the campaign on Twitter using the #Safer6 hashtag.
