Harassment and Hate Crime Training for SMBC Staff
15 June 2017
Rights and Equality Sandwell (RES) organises series of Harassment and Hate Crime Trainings for SMBC Staff and other advisers to help them respond to reports of harassment and hate crime incidents and to handle cases.
Permjeet Panesar CEO provides an overview of the Equality Act 2010 and Hate Crime legislation. Attendants will achieve the complex insight to equality and diversity issues that Sandwell’s and all UK residents come across every day. The training goes through relevant information and statistics and touch the latest subjects that public is most focused on such as life of EU migrants after Brexit and counter terrorism. Program also includes discussion “Sandwell Council Equality Objectives 2016 - 2020” and exercises based on real cases with explanation and comments. Attendants will be able to help improve the quality and accessibility of services available to people who have experienced harassment and hate crime.
